The African Deans of Education Forum was established in July 2013 at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. The forum serves as a platform to strengthen networks between deans of Education in Africa, to disseminate knowledge on quality education, to build capacity in teacher education and research on the continent and to ensure an African voice in global teacher education.
The African Deans of Education Forum is guided by the Global Agenda for sustainable development, ‘Agenda2030’, as formulated by the United Nations; as well as the visionary ‘Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want’ by the African Union – a strategic framework for the socio-economic transformation of the continent over a period of 50 years.
ADEF serves anglophone, lusophone, francophone and Arabic-speaking Africa.
