5. Teacher’s Certificate in Primary Education (Support Teachers) – TCP FT
The Teacher’s Certificate in Primary Education training programme is an initial teacher training programme meant to equip pre-service teachers with knowledge and skills to provide support to children having learning difficulties in the early years of primary schooling. The programme empowers pre-service recruits to provide pedagogical support to children with learning difficulties in literacy and numeracy. It is a one-year training programme (2 semesters) with a total of 30 credits leading to a Certificate level. As part of the training programme, trainee Support Teachers have the visits of ‘pedagogical facilitators’ during their professional training at school.
