Bachelor of Education (Secondary) – Top Up FT

The B.Ed (Hons) Secondary FT is a three year full time programme which targets aspiring secondary school educators, who are holders of a Higher School Certificate or a G.C.E ‘A’ level (or equivalent) with at least a grade ‘C’ in the relevant field of study/subject area. 

The B.Ed (Hons) Secondary FT Programme has 360 Credit Accumulated Transfer Scheme (CATS) points and aims to endow prospective educators with relevant academic and professional competencies and dispositions to enable them to teach their subject area confidently and effectively in increasingly varied secondary school settings.

The B.Ed (Hons) Full Time programme focuses around three basic professional development areas namely, deepening of the prospective teachers’ knowledge and understanding to teach the relevant discipline; developing their pedagogical competence through field experiences and; building the essential ICT skills, research skills, lifelong skills, professional values and dispositions. It combines in-situ experiences with campus-based learning and includes 3 main components as illustrated below:
